Recommiting to Transformation

Today I re-commit to myself. To ME. To being the BEST ME that I can!

I will not focus on the negative because that will only become depressing. I will focus on the POSITIVE.

Last year - March 2013 - I wrote something to my health transformation coach about what is my ideal image, fitness and energy level. I wrote this:

I’m not a plus-sized gal anymore – a healthy, fit woman who can shop in a Misses department again! Size not specific but I do want to have muscle tone – no size zero for this gal! (Heck, I’d be thrilled with a 14/16 or a 10/12!). I want my hourglass figure back. My thighs don’t rub together anymore so I can wear a dress without Spanks just to keep the friction down. No more double chin. Buff arms. My calves are actually normal sized & I can wear fun boots without having to buy large calves boots (which don’t even fit right now!).

Fitness level – I’d be able to go for a leisurely bike ride with my family. (Butt needs to fit on bike first) I’d be able to hike at Devil’s Lake & not worry about getting winded & use an inhaler. Maybe I’d be able to run a 5K race (able vs. want to are different! LOL!)

Energy level – I can handle 6-7 hrs of sleep and am not exhausted by 4pm.

Guess what? I’VE ARRIVED!

  • I can wear an XL or XXL in many Misses tops & some size 16W
    Consider I started at a 3X and size 26W

  • I don’t have as many chins as before

  • I ride my BIKE!!!

  • Working on running the 5K

  • I do NOT get exhausted by 4pm when I get just 7 hrs of sleep

So much has been accomplished in the past 18 months. That is why I will NOT focus on the negative.

I will be RELENTLESS - continue without becoming weaker, less severe. I will remain strict with my habits; determined to make my goals. I will show or promise no abatement of severity, intensity, strength or pace. I will achieve my goals!!

My Approach

  • I will weigh myself every Monday & record in my weekly tracking log

  • On the first of every month, I will weigh & measure myself, recording in my monthly transformation tracking

  • I will work out 4 times per week

  • I will remain true to the guidelines of pure Paleo - continue with a blend of Whole30 and 21 Day Sugar Detox approach to eating which means eliminating most sugar

  • Sugars in the form of honey & maple syrup will be limited in consumption (in any format or amount) to just  twice a week, unless I’m on a 21DSD or Whole30 cleanse

  • Alcohol is for weekends only; I will strive for only 3 alcoholic beverages per week unless I’m on a 21DSD or Whole30 cleanse

  • I will try to eliminate as much dairy as possible from my diet. Dairy should only be GMO-free and organic. If I can find raw dairy, I will try to incorporate.

  • I will use my Essential Oils, introducing new ones along the way; I will track my use of EO’s

  • I will allow an occasional treat and not let myself feel bad about it. The choice will not define me but rather be an action of the circumstance. I will own that action & try to give it any “meaning” or justification.

  • I will not allow food to define me

New Goals

As of today I have lost 60.2 pounds since March 4, 2013. I will continue this transformation with the following goals in mind:

  • I would like to run a portion of the Color Run on October 5, 2014. I do not expect to run all of it because I have not yet trained. I will, however, run a portion of it with my family.

  • By Valentine’s Day 2015 - just 5 ½ months - I will have lost a total of 100 pounds.

  • I will CELEBRATE that 100 pound lost and proudly display it on my Facebook wall

  • I will RUN an entire 5K in 2015

  • By the time I turn 42, I would like to be below 200 pounds

  • I wish to be HALF MY ORIGINAL STARTING SIZE by Valentine’s Day 2016. This target weight is to be less than 167 pounds (ideal = 160)
