Think about anything that's scented in your home: lotions, hand soap, laundry soap... I bet they have lavender in them.
When I received my Premium Starter Kit, this was the first oil that I opened and used. Why? Well, I think most of us are already familiar with lavender - or at least at the calming properties of the scent. But, as I started digging, the more uses I found! A day does not go by without using Lavender in my home.
My Favorite Ways to Use Lavender Essential Oil
Step into my home and you will find lavender in all of these areas:
- Add to liquid detergent when you do your laundry for a fresh, clean scent
- Amazing freshener to your clothes while drying; add a few drops to your wool dryer balls (I prefer Norwex)
- Add to your homemade fabric softener. (Recipe coming soon!)
- Diffuse! Diffuse! Diffuse! Great a bedtime for relaxation. Just smells good (and clean)
- Natural deodorant – mix with coconut oil and rub in underarms. Can add to any DIY deodorant recipe.
- Rub neat (or mix with carrier oil) and apply to the bottoms of the kids’ feet at night – particularly on the big toe. Helps them calm down.
- A combination of Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint may help minimize seasonal discomforts.
- Add to your lotion - homemade or store bought - for some nice fragrance and help with some minor skin irritations.
- Sheet spray: Add 4 oz water and a tablespoon rubbing alcohol to a glass spray bottle; add 15-20 drops lavender. Spray lightly on your sheets.
- Apply a drop to soothe the sting of a burn.
Talk about an awesome oil, huh? You do NOT want to be without this in your medicine chest!
